Work out where you stand

The same calculations we run in a first consultation, free and with no sign-up. Nothing you type into the calculators leaves your browser — there is no server behind them, so there is nothing for us to store. The last one is a link to the College’s own register, which opens on their site.

Express Entry CRS score calculator

Your Comprehensive Ranking System score on IRCC’s current grid — including the March 2025 removal of arranged-employment points, which many calculators still award.

About you

Education

First official language

Enter your Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) per ability. The conversion table below turns IELTS or CELPIP results into CLB.

Second official language

Strong French is the single most under-used source of points: NCLC 7 across all four abilities is worth 25 bonus points on its own, or 50 if your English is also CLB 5 or better.

Work experience

Additional points

A job offer is deliberately not on this list. IRCC removed the 50 and 200 points for arranged employment on 25 March 2025, including for candidates already in the pool. Any calculator still awarding them is overstating your score by up to 200 points.

An estimate, not an assessment. It reflects IRCC’s published grid as of September 2026 and assumes your credentials, test results and work history would be accepted as entered. Eligibility for Express Entry itself is a separate question this tool does not answer.

Bands are IRCC’s own, and they are not all the same width — the hatched ones cover more than ten points, so their bars are longer partly for that reason alone. A score sits inside one band, so the number of people ahead of you is a range rather than an exact figure; the CRS calculator above says which band yours falls in.

IELTS and CELPIP to CLB

Every Express Entry points table is written in Canadian Language Benchmarks; every test report is written in the test’s own scale. This is the conversion between them.

Reading the shading. CLB 7 is the eligibility floor for most Express Entry programs. CLB 9 across all four abilities is where the skill-transferability points double — usually the highest-value improvement available to a candidate.

Which test. IELTS General Training only — Academic is not accepted.CELPIP-General maps directly, so a CELPIP 9 in speaking is CLB 9 in speaking. For French, TEF Canada and TCF Canada map to NCLC on the same scale.

Verify an immigration consultant

Before you pay anyone for immigration help — us included — check that they hold a licence. The College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants publishes a live register, and it takes about thirty seconds.

Why this matters

Only a licensed RCIC, a lawyer, or a Quebec notary may charge you for immigration advice or representation in Canada. Anyone else taking your money for it is acting illegally, and a refusal caused by an unlicensed representative is your problem to fix, not theirs.

The College publishes a live register of every licensed consultant. You can search it by first name, last name, or College ID — and it will tell you whether a licence is active, suspended or revoked.

Open the CICC public register

Opens register.college-ic.ca in a new tab.

Start by checking us

Search these details and you should find an active licence. If you ever cannot, do not send money — tell us, and do not take our word for it over the register’s.

A number is not a strategy

These tools tell you where you are. What to do about it — which program, which province, whether a second language test is worth three months of your life — is the conversation we would have in a consultation.
